发布时间:2026-01-21

Exhibition Introduction

The 2026 Chilean Aquaculture and Fisheries Exhibition (AQUA SUR) will be held at the Centro Logistico TMP in Puerto Montt, Chile. It brings together leading suppliers of machinery, equipment, and services, offering various innovative solutions for Chile's rapidly growing aquaculture industry. Supported by its strategic partner AQUA NOR from Norway, this exhibition has established itself as the second-largest aquaculture industry exhibition globally.

AQUASUR is also the largest aquaculture event in the Southern Hemisphere. Held biennially, it convenes the entire industry. In 2026, the event is set to attract hundreds of professionals, decision-makers, and leading domestic and international companies. It will provide a platform for them to exchange ideas and learn about the latest technologies and innovations within the sector. AQUASUR 2026 will foster networking not only within the exhibition halls but also through dedicated sessions during its conference program. Specially designed zones will further facilitate dialogue on aquaculture development and knowledge sharing.

Market Analysis

China and Chile share a close and complementary supply-demand relationship in the seafood sector, presenting an excellent opportunity for Chinese companies to explore the Chilean and broader South American markets. With China's economic development and rising living standards, consumer demand for high-quality seafood products is increasing. Chilean products like salmon and trout are highly popular in the Chinese market. In the first five months of 2023, China was the destination market with the largest growth in Chilean seafood exports. Export value to China surged 49.8% year-on-year to $306 million, with salmon and trout exports jumping 75.4% to $105 million. Chilean salmon's market share in China continues to expand, with its superior product quality and stable supply meeting Chinese consumers' demand for premium seafood. Simultaneously, imports of other specialty Chilean seafood, such as mussels and seaweed, are also gradually rising, indicating significant market potential.

For Chinese enterprises, participating in the Chilean seafood exhibition is a crucial opportunity to gain an in-depth understanding of Chile's aquaculture industry and strengthen collaboration with Chilean suppliers. At the exhibition, Chinese companies can directly engage with numerous Chilean aquaculture businesses, suppliers, and industry experts, establish closer partnerships, expand procurement channels, and access higher-quality and more diverse seafood resources. Furthermore, the platform allows for showcasing Chinese seafood processing technologies, equipment, and related products, enhancing all-round cooperation across the aquaculture industry chain and jointly exploring the global market. Participation also enables Chinese companies to better understand the latest international seafood market trends, learn from Chile's advanced technologies and experience in aquaculture, processing, and preservation, thereby enhancing their own competitiveness and laying a solid foundation for further expansion in domestic and international markets.

Exhibition Review

During the 2024 edition, Chile's aquaculture industry demonstrated its strength, unity, and capacity for collaboration, making a significant turn towards its historically most important trade fair: AQUASUR 2024. Organized by FISA, part of the GL events Group, the exhibition attracted over 480 exhibitors, more than 1,800 brands, and 39 participating countries showcasing their new technologies. It drew over 22,738 visitors, with a total booth area exceeding 17,000㎡—a 97% increase compared to the previous 2022 edition—and had a mobilizing effect across various cities in the south of the country. The event featured products and innovations presented within the pavilion constructed at the TMP Logistics Center in Puerto Montt.

At its 12th edition, 3,751 international delegates from countries including the United States, Norway, Denmark, Brazil, and China participated in fair-related events such as the AQUASUR Night and the inaugural dinner held at the Radisson Hotel in Puerto Varas. An international congress was held during the fair, featuring 11 panels with over 60 national and international speakers. They discussed topics related to the current state of aquaculture: the blue transformation and how aquaculture can be key to future food, prospects for producing countries, challenges, and new technologies.
